The Lucky Cowboy - biography

Who is that crazy cowboy?

Lucky was born at a very young age in the "Land of Lincoln."  Alton, Illinois, to be exact, is where old Lucky is from. Alton is famous for its celebrities of stage and screen. Remember Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in the world? How about TV star Clint Walker of "Cheyenne" and Butch Calvey the singer? Alton is also where one of the famous Lincoln/Douglas debates took place, and where Bluff City Beer was made. It seems Lucky was just destined to be a famous person.

In his early years, Lucky appeared at the Madison Avenue Corral in Alton as a live DJ for WOKZ radio. He's been a trapeze artist, a motorcycle stunt rider, and even hosted his own carnival. He was a National Indian Chief for the Boy Scouts of America and managed a scout camp. Lucky spent some time in Minnesota where he still has many country fans.

Nowadays, old Lucky is based in Nashville, TN, Music City USA. Here he founded Lucky Cowboy Productions. You might catch him anywhere in Nashville, or somewhere in the rest of the USA promoting country music. He's even been on the Today Show! But you'll always find him wearing his famous forty gallon orange cowboy hat - you can't miss him wherever he goes.

LUCKY VISITED LORETTA'S RANCH

Lucky Cowboy Visited Loretta Lynn's Ranch Tuesday
Lucky Sez: "Yup, we got to see Loretta too."

Lucky Cowboy was touring the ranch and scouting it out for a possible Tennessee Country Music Fest in the fall of 2009.
He talking about 25,000 country music fans camping and enjoying some big name stars. Two to three days of fun and camping under the stars.
Right now, we are just looking at the site.

Country music fans have long listened to the familiar strains of Loretta Lynn's famous ballad "Coal Miner's Daughter." Now you can learn about the legend and her family while enjoying country life as a guest on her private ranch. Bring a tent and camp under a canopy of stars. Enjoy horseback riding, swimming and more. Occasionally, Loretta makes an appearance and performs a concert for her guests,and invites them to sing along.

Loretta and Mooney established “THE DUDE RANCH” in 1972 consisting of a small Campground, Loretta’s original Museum which was located in the Old Grist Mill, Western Store and Gift Shop.

Today, “Loretta Lynn’s Ranch” is complete with a Full Service RV Park, Cabin Rentals, Swimming Pool, Playgrounds, Canoeing, Paddle Boats and Mini-Theater. Tours are offered thru the Lynn’s Plantation Home, Simulated Coal Mine and Loretta’s Butcher Holler Home Place. In 2001 Loretta opened the doors to her 18,000 square foot “Coal Miners Daughter Museum” which is a must to see. The Old Grist Mill houses Loretta’s Doll and Fan Museum as well as the Grist Mill Museum is available to her guests at no admission charge. Retail Stores include Loretta’s Western Store, Grist Mill Gift Shop, Tee Shirt Shop, Plantation Shop, Snack Bar, Rock-A-Billy Café and Lady Loretta’s Boutique. Special Events at the Ranch include Concerts, Loretta Lynn Bi-Annual Trail Rides, Off Road Trail Rides, Cross Country Racing, The Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship, GNC Championship with additional events scheduled throughout the season.

GARTH IN NY

Garth shows up in New York

The New York Mets baseball team is in the middle of a pennant race, but the ballclub’s home is on its last leg. Garth Brooks helped wave goodbye to Shea Stadium Friday when he showed up at Billy Joel’s performance, billed as the final concert for the old ballpark.

Garth and Billy did a duet version of Garth’s 1991 hit "Shameless," The New York Times reported. That was appropriate since Billy wrote that song and recorded the first version of it on his 1989 album Storm Front. It was also appropriate because it provided another layer to Garth and Billy’s public friendship. Billy was a guest when Garth played his most famous concert in New York, a free performance in Central Park that aired as a live special on HBO in August 1997.

Not that Garth was the only guest at the Shea date. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, a writer of Garth’s 1995 single "Fever," made an appearance, as did The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Tony Bennett and Paul McCartney, who joined Billy on a run-through of the Beatles’ "I Saw Her Standing There."

The Lucky Cowboy sent a video of himself with the Cowboy Crush girls on July 17 in downtown Nashville. The Nashville skyline was in the background for the shoot.

Lucky Sez "In order to be considered for a contestant on the NBC Deal or No Deal Show we needed to submit a video of who you are." Well, seems Lucky has recruited Cowboy Crush to be his cheer team in the video and if he is selected, to be on the show with him as his supporters. Lucky said "I love these girls and their music. They get wild on stage and I need some high-energy cheerleaders if we head to LA for a show taping."

Hold onto your horses if Lucky gets picked for the show. It will be a wild ride and don't forget to wish him some luck. Get ready Howie and have those suitcase models dressed as cowgirls! Lucky will be wearing his hat for sure, it's his lucky hat. Pack your bags Crush Girls, get the tour bus ready, we're headed to LA.

Kenny Chesney Visits White House

Kenny Chesney spent part of Wednesday afternoon (July 16) with President George W. Bush and Baseball Hall of Fame member Frank Robinson during the first-ever White House Tee Ball All-Star Game in Washington. The country star also sang the national anthem prior to the game that featured young athletes from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Chesney traveled to the White House after attending Tuesday's Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium in New York. His Poets & Pirates tour resumes Thursday (July 17) when he and LeAnn Rimes appear at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater in Virginia. He heads to Philadelphia for Saturday's (July 19) stadium concert at Lincoln Financial Field with Keith Urban, Gary Allan, Sammy Hagar and Rimes.

SHANIA UPDATE

Shania Twain Update

Shania Twain has two tools for mending her broken heart: music and her 6-year-old son, Eja.

"She's spending as much time with Eja as possible and hasn't put down her guitar since the split," a source close to Twain tells PEOPLE magazine. "The songs are pouring out of her."

Twain made headlines back in May when she announced her separation from husband of 14 years, Robert "Mutt" Lange. The demise of her marriage, allegedly caused by an affair between Lange and a close family friend, has not kept her at home either. Since the split, she has been spotted vacationing in the Caribbean and shopping in her native Canada.

As for the new music she's writing on the road, it's not confirmed yet when we'll hear it. But we do know there's likely a plethora of material for a new CD.

"I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music," Twain writes on her website. "This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey. I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever. Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart."
